Being a photographer has allowed me to capture and be there for my family in a whole new way. I am now the official slideshow creator and photographer at every event.  :)  I love it though, because it allows me to capture special moments for the people I love the most. 

A couple weeks ago, I was able to be there for my Dad's 60th birthday. I can't believe (especially because he looks no where near) that he is 60! My Dad is one of the most loving fathers and has always loved, hugged and done anything for his three daughters. I'm especially lucky because he is the reason why I love photography!

For anyone who is interested or who knows my family, check out the slideshow from the big night here.  My Mom surprised him and hired the Ken Mondshine band for him to sing with. My Dad sounds like Sinatra, not kidding!

As you guys know, I was in DC a few weekends ago for a wedding, so I had the chance to exercise one of my new obsessions - instagram! I'm addicted.  My husband sometimes has to take my phone from me in public situations (gulp). But I can't help but love the simplicity of capturing something with the tap of my finger and how it is always readily available. Words can't describe how beautiful Cape Town is. We spent our time relaxing, going to the beach, surfing in Muizenberg and hiking up Lion's Head. It was heaven.
