I landed in the DC airport at 11:30am and was immediately swept off to start a portrait session with the adorable couple - Siophain and Alan . It was a whirlwind dash around to some of Siophain's favorite spots in DC - Union Station, Meridian Hill Park and the Dupont Circle. I was lucky to see some of the best spots in my first two hours off the plane!
I was in hog heaven as a photographer. I love to see, experience and photograph a new place as beautiful and as architecturally interesting as DC. I definitely hope to be back!
Here are some of the favorites from our session. I love the way Alan looks at Siophain and Siophain can't stop smiling. They are perfect together.

I teamed up with a group of super talented vendors for a sweets photo shoot a couple weeks ago, the brainchild of Ivy from Sweet Sorrella Designs. Without her, the shoot would not have been as much fun or such a success!
I am still working hard on the images, but I couldn't hold out on showing you a sneak peek. Isn't it all divine?? Hungry yet?! More to come soon!

As many of you know, I have an immense love for travel. I feel like my mind and my heart are most open and happy when I am experiencing new things and learning things about this world and this life. Unfortunately, buying a ticket to the other side of the world doesn't happen as often as I like, but sometimes I forget that another world can be found right around the corner.
Rahila and Zeshan had their civil ceremony several weeks ago in Sugar Land and asked me to be a part of their day. In addition to the ceremony, they wanted to capture some portraits at the nearby Hindu temple - BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. The moment I saw the temple, I was instantly transported to another country. It is incredibly gorgeous and practically in my backyard! I will definitely be back.
Rahila and Zeshan's official wedding is coming up this Memorial Day weekend and I am so excited! You will be seeing them again on the blog. :)

A little over a week ago, I met up with my good friend Jaime and finally met her adorable husband Dan. They are celebrating five years together and wanted to have a little fun at the place where they got married - the Aquarium! We had a lot of fun exploring the area and pretending we were kids by spending a long time on the ferris wheel and choosing the coolest animals on the carousel. :)

Hanging out with kids always helps to bring me back to whats important in life. Little Boden smiled when he discovered the perfect rock. Such a small thing in life, which I would normally just walk past without noticing, and kids make you stop, take a deep breath and notice.
To celebrate Boden's first year of life we gave him an extra special treat - a chocolate cupcake - and let him go to town. No wet wipes needed until he had smeared chocolate all over his clothes, his face and the floor around him. It was adorable.
