Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial day weekend! I had a moment to step back, relax and enjoy life this weekend. Who doesn't love to swim and float their heart out? :)

I would like you to think that our household went along in blissful happiness after the purchase of our beautiful new couch....but this is not the case. Our wonderful daughter, Babygirl, took after it with a vengeance. Literally, the next day after I took those pictures. I'm not going to lie, I shed a tear and Chris and I wondered at how we could do to fix this problem. How could we stop her from doing it again? We shutter at the thought of declawing her at this older age, so we went to the pet store and bought them out on literally every product that promised to protect our couch.
At this time, I am happy to report that we have a solution that we are both cautiously optimistic will hold. It is so funny, I had to share. We put "kitty caps," similar to soft paws, on our dear girl and the only colors they had in her size were...pink glittery caps. I almost died. I haven't been so girly since I was 8 years old. But after the initial shock of the caps (I have the scratches to prove it), she has been in surprisingly high spirits. Even laying seductively this morning with her paws outstretched....which allowed me to capture this:

She is truly a princess now. Have a great weekend!

Lynnette & Juan were married at the gorgeous Royal Oaks Country Club on Saturday, May 15th. It was an intimate affair for family and friends and it was obvious that every was planned lovingly. Lynnette wore the most gorgeous dress that had the most fantastic pockets hidden in its bunches. What bride doesn't need a secret hiding place? Room for emergency lip gloss, perhaps a tissue and Juan's ring, in Lynnette's case.

The night was a beautiful success. Congrats Lynnette and Juan!

Maria:

Julie- the picture of her shoes under her dress as she walks away is seriously cool. It's the best wedding shoe shot I've seen- nice job! This bride is gorgeous too- love her hair.

As some of you may know, my husband builds the most beautiful, fantastic furniture. That means, our house is full of beautiful pieces of art. That being said, there has been one rather HUGE sore thumb in our house...our couch. I've hated it since the first day it stepped it's ugly little peg leg into our house. Without sounding too crazy with hatred for our over-plush puke green couch, she served us well, but her time was done. As we drove away from her on the side of the road (at a designated donation site), I looked back. Not with sadness, but with complete elation....someone new would be entering our lives the next day.
Ok, I'm being very dramatic here, but today was the day and we welcomed in a new family member. Meet. Our. Couch.
Chris, Julie and Babygirl approved. Utter happiness.
PS Those are not the official living room pillows, but stolen from our bed. :)

I had SUCH a great weekend. Not only did I have plenty of time to relax and check things off of my to do list, but Rachael and Jordan's wedding was finally upon us. I have never met a more relaxed and calm couple that was so ready to get married. When we arrived to start shooting, Rachael smiled at me and said "I'm just so ready for it to get started!" There were no nerves, no jitters...just happiness. That might have something to do with the fact that they have been together for six years. :) But more about the wedding later, here is a sneak peek just to get you excited. More to come soon!
