For any new photographer out there, setting up a session with a photographer that you admire is an amazing way of growing as an artist. When I first started out in photography, I remember thinking that these sessions and workshops were A LOT of money and they still are, but I will tell you whole heartedly that if you are smart about the people you reach out to and the workshops you take your precious time and money to attend, it will pay off 150%.
Enjoy!

Yesterday was a marathon wedding for Don & Susan. The wedding ceremony was at 2pm and there was a short break before we started the real fun at the reception. More pictures to come of their beautiful day...but here is a sneak peek of one of my favorite images so far...pure magic.
I just found you through Sarah Rhoads' blog. Your art is AWESOME! I'm just starting out in photography in the Houston area, too, so maybe I'll catch you shooting around town :)

Speaking of sun, sometimes I love to take random pictures of sun and clouds. As a photographer, sunlight can be our best friend and our worst nightmare. We have to learn to wrestle with it and ultimately be the winner. Here is a picture of clouds I took when my husband and I visited Austin. They have the most AMAZING sun there...they pretty much have it all. Enjoy! Have a great weekend.

when i was younger, i really loved taking pics of the clouds and sky too! Yours is wayyy better tho!! lol :p

I not only dream about the future, but dream about different things that make my heart smile. Life is so quick and so precious that I think it is important to take a moment and really savor the things that make you happy. Here is my first list that I wanted to share with you to help you get to know me a little better and to help you to think about things in your life that make it that much sweeter.
1. My husband does this dance when he is really happy. He flails his arms and legs in what I lovingly call the "happy dance." I literally can't even keep a straight face as I type this...I have a video of the happy dance on our honeymoon. If you're lucky, I will show it to you one day. If he doesn't delete it after this post. :)
2. Oprah. She rocks my world. Every evening I get home from work and anticipate what her show was about. Did Lisa Ling investigate some other epidemic in the Middle America that I had never heard of? Would Dr. Oz answer questions that I had been too nervous to ask? I reference Oprah shows WAY more than the average individual should be allowed. I should be embarrassed to type this, but I am going to stand high and shout it from the rooftops (aka my blog).
3. Sin Nombre. My husband knew this was coming...I saw the movie Sin Nombre the weekend before last and I literally bring it up in every conversation. It is a Mexican film that is raw, real and unforgettable. I cried for literally 15 minutes after the movie was over. Yes, I'm that person.
4. South Africa. My favorite place in the world, hands down. I lived there for a summer in college. I was visiting my sister and decided not to come home. Yeah, you wouldn't have wanted to be on the phone when I called and told my parents that I wasn't going to be home the next day as expected. :) The country makes my heart soar to new heights. It is breathtakingly gorgeous, intriguingly complicated and the people are phenomenal. My sister Cindy is the lucky one who now lives there. We are excited to be visiting in November!
5. Strawberries + Costco. This is my last one for the day. But did you know that Costco is selling a FOUR POUND box of strawberries for like $6?! Mere pennies in my mind and they are HUGE and JUICY. Run to your closest Costco NOW! :) I had to take a picture so you would believe me...

Happy Tuesday!
SA baby!!!!! can't wait til november, aahhhhhhhhh.
mmm, i wanna strawberry now.
(05.14.09)your strawberry picture inspired me to take pics of things that make me smile throughout the day :)

Their wedding was a special day. After much planning, anticipation and challenges...their day was finally here. The wedding took place last night at their church, Meadow Crest Church, and the reception followed at the Sundance Bar and Grill. I even got to steal the couple away for some pictures along the water. More pictures are to come, but here is a sneak peek at one of my favorites. I think this image shows the raw and beautiful love they have for each other...

Such a beautiful day and I could not have asked for a better photographer. You made it so easy and I can't wait to see all the wonderful shots you took. LOVE!
