I'm so excited to work on their images, but I wanted to share one of my initial favorites. We found a perfect tree after the ceremony and they were both such troopers. They never ONCE complained about the 100+ temperatures!!
Nelda and Marvin - you guys ROCK! Congrats!!

lovely! bench one is cute :)
(06.25.09)Gorgeous colors! The first one would make an awesome wall canvas :)

My cousin Ann was in town this past weekend, which always makes my weekends instantly fun and exciting, and we had just eaten at our favorite brunch spot, Baby Barnabys. We were walking back to our cars and I saw a pink flower. It instantly caught my attention. My cousin had just bought new Ray Bans too and I had been strangely drawn to them all weekend. They were calling me to do a photoshoot. :) These images made me laugh so hard that I just had to share. I will admit we are a little strange, but how CUTE are they? Love!
Here is to my favorite people: Cousin Ann and My Wonderful Husband Chris

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
HAHAHHA oh dear. I feel exposed...I think I like Chris' expression on the second to last LOL! Oh, the cousinship...

Aly and Nirmeen are amazing. Nirmeen's warm and welcoming smile and Aly's true love for Nirmeen...I have been excited to shoot their wedding festivities since the day we met!
Discovery Green is an especially meaningful place to the two of them because under one of its outstretched trees, Aly got down on one knee and asked Nirmeen to marry him. Their beaming smiles upon our arrival to the park showed how much it meant to them to revisit this gorgeous park and for me to be able to shoot some fun, relaxed images of just the two of them. It wasn't hard to get a good shot - Nirmeen is drop dead gorgeous and one smile from Nirmeen and Aly was smiling back. There are so many good pictures to choose from!
Since I know they are DYING to see some of the shots, I thought I would share a sneak peek of our time together. It was really hard to choose just one, but this one called to me. It just feels like I was sneaking through the flowers (not far from the truth) and came upon a magical moment. As a photographer, I strive to capture the magic and the power of love and the bringing together of two souls...I thought this image portrayed that!

Nirmeen & Aly - Thank you again for asking me to be a part of your day! Can't wait!
julie you were awesome!!! we had a blast also...this pic is lovely! cant wait to see the rest
(06.22.09)WOW! What a beautiful picture Julie! You are awesome, I had so much fun this past weekend. I can't wait for the wedding!

In honor of the sunshine, I want to share a new blog post of things that make my heart smile. Things that make me deliriously happy, make me click my heels together in the air, make my heart sing a brand new tune...that kind of happy. Sounds good, right? These posts are to hopefully help you learn of something new that might also make your heart smile, then you can share in my happiness! Enjoy!

2. Sayulita, Mexico. I just booked our anniversary vacation in Sayulita. It is about 30 minutes outside of Puerto Vallarta. This is the modern, eco-friendly (yet still has air conditioning) house we are going to be staying. Check out more info here. I love staying in houses when I travel...it makes the vacation so much more intimate and relaxing. :)
3. Etsy.com. I just found etsy not too long ago and it has changed the way I shop. It is a collection of unique artists that create "etsy shops" and sell their goods. These are not to be confused with what first comes to mind when someone says "home-made" goods, these are unique, very well-made items that no one else has! Check out more of the jewelry of the featured artist here.
4. So You Think You Can Dance. One of the main reasons I love summer. I highly anticipate each Thursday for when the couples dance to some of the most amazing choreography. Much more entertaining than American Idol, just my humble opinion...
5. Blueberry Presses. In continuation of my summer theme, there is no better summer drink than a blueberry press. In my bartending days, I have hooked many a customer onto this tasty beverage. Just pour a 3 oz shot of Stoli Blueberry Vodka, 1/2 soda, 1/2 7up and garnish with a lime...yummm...
6. Kabul Beauty School. I haven't read a book in ages, but my wonderful mother-in-law is always trying to convince me to pick up some of her favorite reads. I will admit it took me awhile to pick it up because of my busy schedule, but now I can't put it down. It is about an American woman who opens up a beauty school in post-Taliban Afghanistan. I LOVE learning about new cultures as I read!
Drop me a note if there is something that makes you heart happy. Happy Tuesday!
