welcome. Thanks for stopping by!  This is my brand-new, totally amazing blog.  I am pumped to be able to share my voice and my photography with the whole wide world.  My name is Julie Wilhite and I am a portrait/wedding photographer based out of Houston, TX.  That's right, I'm a Texan...and I promise I don't ride a horse to work everyday.  Feel free to take a look around, maybe even drop me a note.  Would love to hear from you!

Today was a monumental day for Chris and I...two years.  Two years of being able to look at Chris and call him my husband - more importantly, my partner for life.  He makes me smile and laugh CONSTANTLY, he watches So You Think You Can Dance with me, writes me beautiful letters and fills our home with incredible furniture.  He truly makes my life a better place to be...

To Chris:  thank you for being you.

Lazy Sundays make me SO happy.  I slowly wake up, normally greeted by my beautiful and loving Babygirl.  I am able to meander around...aimlessly moving between working on images and watching the television.

Today was one of those treasured days.  I was able to hook up and recharge for a bit.  Not to mention, I was able to fulfill my Tori & Dean fix.  I know, it sounds crazy...but
I am obsessed.  :)  Hope you were all able to do the same today...recenter yourself, re energize and refocus on whats important.  I also bought breakfast and brought it home to my husband...gaining wife points whenever possible is also the sign of a good day.

Here's some pics of Babygirl doing what she does best, relax.  Happy Sunday!

Okay, so I just finished an album design for an awesome couple that I shot earlier this summer.  Meredith and Bryan were super relaxed, super happy and so much fun to be around.  The wedding was a blast!  Not to mention, it was located at the beautiful Alden Hotel.  The spot where Chris and I actually got married two years ago.

Just wanted to share a link, check it out at:

Last night was bitter sweet for me.   It was the end of July, my busiest month yet in my photography business.  On the one hand, I am excited for an August break and on the other, I'm sad I don't have a wedding to look forward to next weekend!

I couldn't have asked for a more amazing couple and beautiful wedding last night.  My bride, Ingrid, has just been a pleasure to work with from the very beginning.  So sweet, so beautiful and perfectly calm and steady as she planned every detail of their wedding.  Last night was the first time I was able to meet Enoc, since he lives in New York City where Ingrid will be joining him soon.  He was absolutely wonderful and SO in love.  As I got to steal the two of them away from the crowd, I barely had to direct them as they just held each other.  I'm so excited for them as they embark on the next chapter of their lives where they don't have to endure another moment apart.

Ingrid and Enoc - Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your beautiful day!  Congratulations!

Here is a sneak peek...

Coldplay has always been one of my favorites.  I normally try and stay away from bands that are hyper popular, but Coldplay has just always been a band that stirs my soul.  I have never forgotten the first time I heard them.  I was in college, walking through our community center and I heard the catchy, mellow tune of Yellow.  I remember stopping dead in my tracks and turning to the TV that was hanging from the ceiling.  I was riveted.  Not only by the tune that I felt embodied how I was feeling at the moment, but by this cute British guy strolling down the beach...

Chris and I had the opportunity to see Coldplay do their Viva la Vida tour at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston on Wednesday night.  It was just amazing!  Chris Martin is such an amazing musician and the show was brilliantly put together.  Including yellow balls floating through the crowds

an amazing scrim hanging from the back of the stage that they projected the concert onto:

and colorful butterflies that floated in the air:

20090722Coldplay003.JPGAll in all, an amazing concert and a wonderful night with my husband away from the normalities of life.  One of the best things about using a tiny point and shoot camera that fits in my pocket is that I get to hold it up and take a picture of the two of us.  Here's to my husband Chris:
